The Starting Lineup
- Missouri State continues a five-game home stand this week with a three-game series against CUSA foe Liberty on Thursday and Friday. Mo State is currently 9th in the CUSA standings and Liberty is tied for 2nd.
- Thursday night's game will mark the first-ever meeting between the Bears and Flames.Â
- The Bears rank 72nd nationally and 4th in CUSA in double plays (13). Likewise, Mo State's .970 fielding percentage ranks 63rd among all NCAA Division I programs.Â
- Right-hander Emily Koranda (Fr., Marion, Iowa) was named CUSA Freshman of the Week for the second time on Monday. At LA Tech last weekend, she went 1-1 with a 0.62 ERA. She struck out 6 and the Bulldogs batted just .186 against her in 11.1 IP. She ranks 2nd in CUSA and 66th nationally in ERA (2.25). The freshman hurler ranks 31st nationally with 3 shutouts and is tied for 4th in CUSA with 75 strikeouts. Â
- 1B Riley Baber (So, Overland Park, Kan.) is leading the way for Missouri State offensively this season with a .352 batting average, 10 doubles and 4 home runs. Her total doubles are tied for 5th in CUSA.Â
- Outfielder Lauren Rowland (So., O'Fallon, Mo.) and Brynn Romine (So., Gravette, Ark.) are both hitting over .300 in CUSA action. Romine (.371 avg) has 13 hits and 8 runs, while Rowland (.353 avg) has 12 hits and 7 RBI against league opponents.Â
- The Missouri State pitching staff has racked up 5 shutouts this season, which ranks 37th nationally. The Bears have also allowed just 7.3 hits per seven innings which is 79th in DI.Â
- Mo State has tinkered with its lineup over the last week and gotten production out of some new names. Sofia King (Jr., Conway, Ark.) has posted a hit in 3 of the last 4 games, while EB Bobbitt (So., Prosper, Texas) had a career day against Mizzou on Tuesday, going 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and a double.Â
- Coach Kasey Griffith is in her second season at the helm of the Bears after going 20-33 overall and 16-11 in the Missouri Valley Conference in her head coaching debut. She is in her fourth season overall at Mo State and took over as head coach on June 5, 2024 upon the retirement of legendary coach Holly Hesse.
- The 2026 MoState roster includes 15 returners, six newcomers (four freshmen and two transfers) and features 12 underclassmen.
- The Bears were picked to finish T-10th in the 2026 CUSA Softball Preseason Poll.Â
