The Lady Bear Necessities
  • Missouri State women's basketball hits the road for a pair of Conference USA matchups with a trip to Delaware up first on Thursday night (6:00 p.m. CT, ESPN+). MoState, which has suffered two consecutive losses, had a single home game last week before their second contest was rescheduled due to weather and travel concerns.
  • Thursday night's meeting will mark the first-ever between the Lady Bears and Blue Hens. It will mark the third of five CUSA opponents that MoState will face for the first time in program history (Kennesaw State, Jax State, Liberty and Sam Houston).
  • Kaemyn Bekemeier leads MoState this season with 17.6 ppg, 8.3 rpg and 29 three-pointers. She leads CUSA in total points (334) and is 2nd in defensive rebounds per game (6.9). The 5-9 guard has scored in double figures in a team-leading 17 of 19 games on the season.
  • The second member of MoState's dynamic duo Lainie Douglas (So., Overland Park, Kan.) is averaging 14.3 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game and leads the team with a .525 FG% in CUSA games. She owns 26 blocks on the season, which is tied for second in Conference USA and ranks 95th nationally.
  • Point guard Maycee James (Sr., Goddard, Kan.) ranks 87th nationally and 8th in CUSA in steals (46) and 74th in the nation and 6th in CUSA with 2.4 steals per game.
  • As a team, Missouri State ranks inside the top 10 nationally in: free throw made/game (8th - 17.6) and free throw attempts/game (6th - 23.8). Bekemeier ranks inside the top 20 nationally in FTM (16th - 101) and FTA (24th - 125), while Cady Pauley (Sr., Milan, Mo.) leads CUSA and ranks 35th nationally with an .873 FT%.
  • In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 52-7 when scoring 70+ points, 58-3 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 43-0 when opponents score less than 60 points. Missouri State is 0-4 this season when allowing 70 or more points.
  • Tale of Two Halves - MoState is -44 on the scoreboard in the first half this season, but flips the switch at the break to own a +89 point differential against its opponents in the second half of games.
  • Battle on the Boards - MoState is 11-1 this season when out-rebounding opponents, but is just 1-6 when losing the battle on the boards.
  • Head coach Beth Cunningham is just two wins shy of 250 for her head coaching career. She collected her 80th win at the helm of the Lady Bears on Jan. 10 against Jacksonville State.
  • MoState is currently 140 in the NET ranking, which ranks second amongst CUSA teams (Louisiana Tech - 94). Delaware currently ranks 199, which is 6th in the league.
