March 24, 2026

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Missouri State women's basketball's Kaemyn Bekemeier and Maycee James earned a spot on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced today.

Bekemeier is majoring in Early Childhood Education and owns a 3.68 GPA as a junior. This marks the second CSC academic all-district nod for Bekemeier, who has also been on the Missouri State Athletic Director's honor roll in every semester of her college career.

The junior from Republic, Mo., averaged 17.4 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this season and was named to the All-CUSA First Team and was named CUSA Tournament MVP as she helped lead the Lady Bears to the conference tournament title and their 18th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

James is majoring in Geneal Studies and owns a 3.87 GPA as a senior. It marks the first CSC academic all-district honor of her career, and she was also named to the Missouri State Athletic Director's honor roll in her first semester at Mo State (Fall 2025).

A senior transfer out of Goddard, Kan., James led the Lady Bears this season with 99 assists and 86 steals in her only season in the maroon and white. She was named to the CUSA All-Defensive Team and helped lead Missouri State to the CUSA tournament championship and its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2021-22.

The winning tradition continued as Missouri State posted its ninth-straight 20-win season after going 23-13 overall and won its 12th conference tournament crown after defeating the top three seeds as the No. 6 seed in the Conference USA Tournament. It marked Mo State's 11th straight postseason appearance, and with their win over Stephen F. Austin in the First Four round, the Lady Bears have won an NCAA Tournament game in their last four appearances in the Big Dance.
