CHICAGO – Missouri State secured a bronze medal in the distance medley relay to end the first day of the Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship in Chicago.

Alex Adams and
Ella Cronhardt placed third in the relay with a time of 11:35.65 to add six points to the Bears' meet total. The quad beat MoState's best distance medley relay time of the season be approximately 24 seconds. Today's time was second-fastest distance medley relay time in Missouri State track and field's history.

Kamdyn Moody secured points for the Bears as well. The senior finished seventh in the pentathlon with a combined total of 3,468 points. Moody opened the meet with a personal record time of 8.90 in the 60-meter hurdles, followed by an attempt of 1.58 meters in the high jump. She followed that up with a 10.62-meter attempt in shot put that garnered her a second-place finish in shot put. A 5.43-meter attempt in long jump and a personal record of 2:39.82 rounded out the event for the Justin, Tex., native.

Several Bears will compete for more medals tomorrow. Sophomore
Olivia Rogers secured a spot in both the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. The Dearborn, Mo., native finished fifth in both preliminary races with a time of 7.49 seconds and a personal record in the 60-meter dash and a time of 24.46 in the 200-meter dash.

BreAna Garrett also made it through the first round of the 400-meter dash. The freshman earned the final spot in tomorrow's final with a time of 56.11.

Cronhardt was the final qualifier for MoState. The sophomore from Lee's Summit, Mo., set a personal record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.23 for a fourth-place finish and a spot in the final race.

Missouri State ended the day tied with Murray State for eighth place. Eleven more events will take place tomorrow beginning with the 400-meter finals at 12:10 p.m. Meet coverage will begin on ESPN+ at 11:15 a.m.
