SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Junior
Tim Holmberg fired 66-67--133 in the opening two rounds of the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate on Monday (Mar. 17) to lead the Missouri State men's golf team to a two-shot edge entering the final round at Twin Oaks Country Club. Holmberg has a five-stroke lead after his nine-under-par day on the par-71, 6739-yard layout, with Jason Bannister of Southern Indiana his closest pursuer after carding a pair of 69's.
The Bears posted 286-284--570 as a team to grab a two-shot lead over Northern Iowa and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, with Omaha, Western Illinois and Southern Indiana tied for fourth in the 12-team field at 579. Tuesday's final round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
