BOULDER CITY, Nev. -- The Missouri State men's golf team finished sixth Tuesday (Mar. 10) at the Jackrabbit Invitational in suburban Las Vegas at Boulder Creek Golf Club. The Bears entered the final round in sixth place in the 11-team field and stayed there despite posting their best round of the tournament in the final round with a 284 for an 870 total after carding 287-299 the first two rounds.
Senior
Christian Rischer tied for 15th to take low honors for MoState, posting 71-73-71--215, one-under-par, a shot better than freshman teammate
Noah Naugle, who tied for 19th with 71-76-79--216. Junior
Owen Swearingen was third for MSU and 28th overall after shooting 69-76-75--220, while freshman
Pedro Gallegos tied for 46th with 76-76-72--224. Sophomore
Jonathan Jordan was a stroke back with 79-74-72--225 to finish tied for 50th.
Host South Dakota State went wire-to-wire for the team championship, recording an 847 total, four better than runnerup Youngstown State. Kansas City, North Dakota and IU Indy rounded out the top five. The Bears are now idle for three weeks before returning for the Tiger Intercollegiate in Columbia, Mo., Apr. 6-7.
