Jonathan Jordan led the way for the Missouri State men's golf team Monday (Mar. 2) on the first day of the Colin Mongtomerie/HCU Invitational. The sophomore from Rolla, Mo. fired a two-under-par 69 in the afternoon round at Sweetwater Country Club after posting a 75 to open the tournament and is tied for 26th place with his 144 total.
As a team, MoState is 13th in the 15-team field through the first 36 holes after shooting 307-296--603. Howard jumped out to a big lead after the first day with 273-274--547, 21-under-par. Host Houston Christian is second with 560, while Midland Community College (574), Weber State (575), Southeastern Louisiana and East Texas A&M (576) round out the top six.
