RIO VERDE, Ariz. --
Kiser Pannier fired an even-par 72 in Sunday's (Feb. 23) final round at the Rio Verde Invitational to pick up her first top-10 finish of the season for the Missouri State women's golf team. The junior from Sedalia, Mo. opened the tournament Friday with a two-under 70, then followed with a 77 in round two to post a 219 total and finish in a tie for 10th after three trips around the White Wing Course at Rio Verde Country Club.
The Bears' team fortunes weren't as good in their spring opener, however, as they struggled to a 15th-place finish in the 21-team field. They started out the tournament Friday with a 298 and in sixth place, but slipped to 316-304 the final two days for a 918 total. California Baptist rallied for the team championship with 864, a shot better than Illinois State and five in front of Xavier, which entered Sunday's play with the lead.
