PITTSBURG, Kan. – Missouri State track and field wrapped up the Gorilla Classic with a handful of second-place finishes on Saturday in Pittsburg, Kan.
 
Freshman BreAna Garrett set a personal record in the 400-meter dash with her second-place finish in the open division. Garrett crossed the line in 56.08 seconds.
 
Another freshman recorded a second-place finish later in the day. Kaitlyn Hatley ran the 800-meters in 2:17.30 for a personal best.
 
Ella Cronhardt was the final second-place finisher for the Bears in the 1-mile run. The sophomore finished the race with a time of 4:55.16 for a personal record. Cronhardt also set a personal record in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.27. She finished fourth in the invite division.
 
The Bears tallied up 18 personal bests through 10 events.
 
"It was another productive day with more breakthroughs," head coach Jordan Fife said. "We just need to get a bigger group to all have that kind of day on the same day. We have some people really figuring things out at the right time as we get close to conference."
 
The Bears penultimate meet of the indoor season will take place on Feb. 21 at Arkansas. Then the Bears will head to Chicago for their final Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championship meet on Mar. 2 and Mar. 3.
