The Lady Bear Necessities
  • Missouri State women's basketball is looking to snap a three-game losing streak as the Lady Bears welcome Central Arkansas for a Monday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) showdown. The contest will close out MoState's four-game home stand and the Lady Bears' non-conference slate.
  • Despite being around 185 miles apart from each other, Monday's matchup will mark the first-ever meeting between the Lady Bears and Sugar Bears. UCA was picked to finish second in the ASUN preseason coaches and media polls, and Bree Stephens was named the ASUN preseason DPOY and was one of 10 players on the league's preseason team.
  • The Lady Bears were picked to finish fourth in their first season as a member of Conference USA in the league's preseason poll. MoState slotted in behind Louisiana Tech, Liberty and Middle Tennessee. Little Rock transfer Lee was selected to the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team. Lee was an All-OVC first-team member a season ago after averaging 14.2 points per game for the Trojans, and she averaged 19.7 points in three career games against Missouri State.
  • Kaemyn Bekemeier (Jr., Republic, Mo.) leads the way for the Lady Bears this season, averaging 16.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. She leads the team with 19 triples and is shooting .806 from the free throw line (58-72). The guard ranks 1st in CUSA in free throws made and points (199), which rank 18th and 79th in the nation, respectively.
  • As a team, Missouri State ranks inside the top 15 nationally in: free throw attempts per game (8th - 24.4) and free throws made per game (10th - 17.6). Bekemeier ranks inside the 30 nationally in FTM (18th - 58) and FTA (26th - 72). Missouri State's .720 free throw percentage this season is tops in Conference USA, meanwhile Cady Pauley (Sr., Milan, Mo.) ranks 2nd in CUSA and 58th nationally with an .857 free throw percentage.
  • In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 50-7 when scoring 70+ points, 54-1 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 42-0 when opponents score less than 60 points.
  • Missouri State is 0-4 this season when allowing 70 or more points. The Lady Bears are also coming off their lowest point total of the season (49), marking the first time MoState has been held under 50 points in the Cunningham era.
  • MoState is currently 139 in the NET rankings, which ranks second amongst CUSA teams (Louisiana Tech - 119). Central Arkansas currently checks in at 101 in the NET, which is the highest in the ASUN.
  • The 2025-26 Lady Bear squad features seven returners and seven newcomers in a new-look lineup that replaces all five of its starters from a year ago. MoState lost 69.2 percent of its scoring and 60.9 percent of its rebounding from last season.
