Corey Riggs

After more than a quarter century of broadcast and production experience at the local and regional level, Corey Riggs joined the Missouri State Sports Properties staff in August of 2024 as its Director of Broadcasting.

A native of Webb City, Mo., Riggs called his first Missouri State games on radio as a student broadcaster in 1999 after making his TV debut with Mediacom earlier in his senior year.

Since then, Riggs has held several roles in Mediacom’s local TV coverage of high school and college sports, announcing, directing and producing upwards of 100 games per season. In 2004, Riggs took on the role of production manager at Mediacom, where he brokered a successful rights agreement to carry both Missouri State and Southern Illinois basketball on MC22. He was promoted to senior production manager in 2013 and completed a 26-year run with the company in 2024.

Under Riggs' leadership, the Mediacom production crew has won over 20 MidAmerica Cable show awards (MIDIs).

Riggs has also announced a number of high school and regional sporting events, including state championships games in the states of Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas. In 2018, he also expanded his resume into dirt track racing, working for the national MAVTV network. His games and events have also been featured on ESPN2, ESPNU and other national platforms.

Riggs joined the Missouri State Radio Network as a studio host on football and basketball games in 2013 and has been a part of the institutions' announcer rotation on ESPN3 and ESPN+ since 2015. He stepped into the role of road play-by-play announcer for Missouri State men's basketball and football when Art Hains became ill and has remained a key broadcast and production coordinator on MSU broadcasts for football, basketball and baseball.

Riggs is a 1999 graduate of Missouri State with a degree in Mass Media.

He and his wife, Maggie, have an adult son, Carter.
