The Lady Bear Necessities
  • Missouri State women's basketball will look to get back in the win column as the Lady Bears welcome Gonzaga to Great Southern Bank Arena on Friday night (6:30 p.m.) as part of a four-game home stand. MoState and Gonzaga have met five times with the Bulldogs owning a 3-2 advantage. The series is tied 1-1 in Springfield.
  • These two squads met last season as part of the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, USVI with the Lady Bears securing a 65-64 victory courtesy of a late free throw from Lacy Stokes. Kaemyn Bekemeier had 11 points in the matchup followed by nine points from Cady Pauley and six from Lainie Douglas
  • Since the beginning of the 2017-18 season, MSU has compiled a 99-16 record inside Great Southern Bank Arena, while boasting a 78-10 record since the start of the 2019-20 season. Under Beth Cunningham, the Lady Bears are 42-8 at home. However, the Lady Bears are coming off consecutive home losses for the first time since the 2018-19 season.
  • Kaemyn Bekemeier (Jr., Republic, Mo.) leads the way for the Lady Bears this season, averaging 17.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. She leads the team with 19 triples and is shooting .806 from the free throw line (54-67). The guard ranks 1st in CUSA in free throws made and points (187), which rank 17th and 65th in the nation, respectively.
  • As a team, Missouri State ranks inside the top 15 nationally in: free throw attempts per game (8th - 25.1) and free throws made per game (11th - 17.8). Bekemeier ranks inside the 25 nationally in FTM (17th - 54) and FTA (24th - 67).
  • In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 50-7 when scoring 70+ points, 54-1 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 42-0 when opponents score less than 60 points.
  • MoState is currently 133 in the NET rankings, which ranks second amongst CUSA teams (Liberty - 114).
  • The 2025-26 Lady Bear squad features seven returners and seven newcomers in a new-look lineup that replaces all five of its starters from a year ago. MoState lost 69.2 percent of its scoring and 60.9 percent of its rebounding from last season.
  • The Lady Bears were picked to finish fourth in their first season as a member of Conference USA in the league's preseason poll. MoState slotted in behind Louisiana Tech, Liberty and Middle Tennessee. Little Rock transfer Lee was selected to the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team. Lee was an All-OVC first-team member a season ago after averaging 14.2 points per game for the Trojans, and she averaged 19.7 points in three career games against Missouri State.
