The Lady Bear Necessities
  • Missouri State women's basketball returns home for the first time since its season opener on Tuesday night (6:30 p.m.) to take on Georgia Southern at Great Southern Bank Arena. Tuesday's matchup marks the first-ever meeting between the Lady Bears and Eagles.
  • With a win over Wichita State on Saturday, the Lady Bears moved to 4-0 to match the 2019-20 team for the best start to a campaign since the 1997-98 club opened 12-0. It marked just the sixth time in program history that the Lady Bears have started a season with at least four consecutive victories.
  • Kaemyn Bekemeier (Jr., Republic, Mo.) leads the way for the Lady Bears this season, averaging 17.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. She has led MoState in rebounds in all four games this season and was named Conference USA Player of the Week on Nov. 10 following her opening week performance.
  • Getting to the line - In the NCAA, Missouri State ranks 13th in FTA/G (27.8) and 10th in FTM/G (20.0), while Bekemeier ranks 15th in FTM (23) and 25th in FTA (28).
  • Missouri State ranks third in CUSA in three-point field goal defense, limiting its opponents to .241 (13-of-54) from behind the arc to start the season.
  • The 2025-26 Lady Bear squad has a new look this season, as Missouri State replaces all five of its starters from a year ago. MoState lost 69.2 percent of its scoring and 60.9 percent of its rebounding from last season.
  • MoState returns seven players from last year's squad, highlighted by Bekemeier and Lainie Douglas (So., Overland Park, Kan.). The Lady Bears also welcome seven new players - a group that consists of four transfers and three freshmen.
  • The Lady Bears were picked to finish fourth in their first season as a member of Conference USA in the league's preseason poll. MoState slotted in behind Louisiana Tech, Liberty and Middle Tennessee. Little Rock transfer Lee was selected to the CUSA Preseason All-Conference Team. Lee was an All-OVC first-team member a season ago after averaging 14.2 points per game for the Trojans, and she averaged 19.7 points in three career games against Missouri State.
  • Last season, the Lady Bears secured their eighth consecutive 20-win season (streak began in 2017-18). Missouri State is one of just 13 Division I programs to accomplish that feat. MSU is the only one of the 13 programs to do so under the leadership of three different head coaches (Kellie Harper, Amaka Agugua-Hamilton and Beth Cunningham).
  • In the Cunningham era, Missouri State is 48-5 when scoring 70+ points, 52-1 when holding opponents to 65 points or less and 40-0 when opponents score less than 60 points.
