On the Pitch
  • Missouri State continues its postseason surge after defeating fourth-seeded Middle Tennessee, 2-1, in Tuesday's CUSA semifinals at Liberty's Osborne Stadium. The Bears advance to their third conference tournament final in the last four seasons, where they'll face second-seeded and host Liberty for the 2025 CUSA Championship.
  • Missouri State is 2-0-1 at Liberty's Osborne Stadium this season, including a 0-0 regular-season draw with the Flames, a 2-0 quarterfinal win over top-seeded Western Kentucky, and a 2-1 semifinal victory against Middle Tennessee.
  • The Bears' semifinal win featured first-half goals from Lillie Rasmussen and freshman standout Ellie Neath, while goalkeeper Ella Becker made four second-half saves to hold off the Blue Raiders and secure the result.
  • In Sunday's quarterfinal, Missouri State stunned No. 1 seed Western Kentucky, 2-0, as Neath opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and Reilly Heman added insurance in the 58th, with assists from Rasmussen and Abby Hansen. Becker recorded her fifth shutout of the season with four saves.
  • The Bears became the first No. 8 seed to reach the CUSA Championship Final since Charlotte in 2017, continuing a remarkable postseason run in their first season as Conference USA members.
  • Away from Springfield, Missouri State has been one of the nation's top road teams, boasting a 7-2-3 record away from home, including two neutral-site wins in the CUSA Tournament.
  • Missouri State is making its 23rd all-time conference tournament appearance and first in Conference USA. The Bears own a 4-2 record in conference championship matches, capturing four titles (2000, 2017, 2022, 2024) and earning four NCAA Tournament berths.
  • This marks the first postseason meeting between Missouri State and Liberty. The teams previously met earlier this season on Sept. 19 in Lynchburg, playing to a 0-0 draw.
  • Julia Kristensen earned First Team All-Conference USA honors, while Abby Hansen and Maddie Schneiderhahn were named to the Second Team following standout 2025 campaigns.
  • Reilly Heman and Julia Kristensen share the team lead with 13 points apiece, each recording five goals and three assists this season. Hansen ranks third with 12 points on three goals and six assists, while Neath has scored in back-to-back postseason matches, including the game-winner against Middle Tennessee.
  • Goalkeeper Ella Becker has started all 19 matches, logging 1,597 minutes (fourth in CUSA) with a 1.41 goals-against average, .728 save percentage, and five shutouts on the year.
  • Missouri State's attack averages 1.32 goals per game while holding opponents to a 1.47 scoring average. The Bears have totaled 203 shots, 22 assists, and 79 corner kicks this season, converting on a .123 shot percentage and maintaining a .731 team save rate.
  • Missouri State's 24-match conference unbeaten streak ended on Oct. 12 against Western Kentucky, marking its first league loss in nearly three years. The streak began during the Bears' Missouri Valley Conference tenure and extended into their inaugural CUSA campaign.
