On the Pitch
  • The Missouri State women's soccer team open play at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium with a visit from Tulsa at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 18. Admission is free.
  • Last season, the Bears picked up a win on their trip to Tulsa when they beat the Golden Hurricane 3-1. Tulsa leads the series 14-8-3 with a record of 6-4-1 in Springfield.
  • MoState is on a home winning streak of eight games. Their last loss in Springfield was against Murray State on Oct. 6, 2022.
  • Missouri State opened its season on the road at Missouri where the Tigers won 2-0. Bears' goalkeeper Camielle Day picked up four saves to start the season and forward/midfielder Reilly Heman led the way in shooting with three shots.
  • MoState was picked to finish first in the MVC preseason poll for the second year in a row with seven first place votes and 116 points.
  • Four Bears were named to the Preseason All-MVC Team. Jenna Anderson, Camielle Day, Grace O'Keefe and Carly Raunig all made the cut with Kaeli Benedict and Gabbi Schlapper earning honorable mentions.
  • Missouri State was named the NCAA Statistical Champion in shutout percentage (.684) with 13 clean sheets in a 19-game season.
  • Day was also named an NCAA Statistical Champion for a goals against average of .452 (eight goals in 1,593 minutes played). Her GAA also set a school record previously held by Alexis Stormo who recorded an average of .73 in 2004.
  • Head coach Kirk Nelson enters his third season leading the Bears. In his two years at the helm, he has led the team to an MVC tournament championship (2022) and the team's best winning percentage (.763, 2023).
