FINAL Results
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Missouri State fired a final-round 290 here Sunday to finish 14th in the competitive 16-team field at the Hawkeye Invitational. MSU's 283-295-290--868 was three strokes behind Wichita State for 13th and nine back of Kansas for 12th.
Wisconsin (279-279-282--840) took top team honors, ahead of TCU (845) and Southern Illinois (845), which shared runner-up distinction.
Individually, MSU's
Max Kreikemeier tied for 26th to lead the Bears at the event. His final-round 72 gave him a three-round total of 214, just one-over par for the 54-hole event.
Teammates
Eric Schuessler and
Ludvig Wijkstrom were five strokes behind Kreikemeier to finish with identical 219 totals and tie for 57th place in the 90-man field.
Coach
Neal Stafford's squad will now prepare for next week's Missouri Valley Conference Championship, which the Bears will host at Porto Cima at Lake of the Ozarks, April 21-12.
