Men's Golf Finishes Fourth to Wrap Up Fall

OZARK, Mo. -- The Missouri State men's golf team posted its best finish of the season Tuesday (Oct. 28) at the Missouri State Intercollegiate at Millwood Golf & Racquet Club. The Bears placed fourth in their own tournament, shooting 289-288-296--873 to place fourth of eight teams and put the finishing touches on the fall portion of their schedule.

Lindenwood edged out Bradley by a single shot for the team title, 857-858, while UNI was just two more back with 860. Then came the Bears, Arkansas-Pine Bluff (879), Tennessee State (884), Evangel (911) and Evangel "B" (932). 

Senior Christian Rischer was the top Bear on the scoreboard, shooting even-par 213 for the tournament on rounds of 70-68-75, to tie for sixth. Senior Tim Holmberg was next for MSU, carding 70-74-73--217 to place 11th, while junior Andrew Fallis took 14th with 74-73-72--219. Junior Owen Swearingen and freshman Noah Naugle tied for 31st at 228.

Freshman Pedro Gallegos had his best outing as a Bear while playing as an individual, tying for 12th by shooting 75-72-71--218. Junior Max Bowman posted 74-75-77--226 to place 29th, one ahead of sophomore Jonathan Jordan, who carded 77-76-74--227.

MSU will resume its schedule in the spring, opening up at the Loyola Intercollegiate, Feb. 16-18 in Goodyear, Ariz.
