GREENWOOD, Ind. – Lacy Stokes of Missouri State women's basketball was selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced Tuesday (March 26).
 
The 2023-24 Academic All-District Women's Basketball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
 
Stokes led the way for Missouri State in 2023-24 with 12.8 points per game, 153 assists and 85 steals. She started all 33 games and averaged a team-leading 32.8 minutes per game in her first season as a Lady Bear.
 
At the Missouri Valley Conference postseason awards banquet, Stokes was named the MVC Newcomer of the Year and earned spots on the All-MVC Second Team, All-Defensive Team and All-Newcomer Team. Throughout the season, she racked up nine conference Newcomer of the Week awards, tying the league record for a single season.
 
The Mount Vernon, Mo., native is majoring in Health Services and was named to the Missouri State Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the fall 2023 semester.
