On the Pitch
  • The regular-season champion Missouri State Bears will open their tournament run against No. 4 seed Belmont in the semifinals at 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 7 at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium.
  • The Bears are champions! With its 1-0 win at Illinois State on 10/24, Missouri State secured its first-ever regular season championship. As the No. 1 seed for the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament, the Bears received a double-bye and are serving as the host for both the semifinal round and the MVC Championship game.
  • MoState has won three tournament titles in its time as a member of the MVC. In 2000, the Bears earned the third seed just four years after the team was founded. They were the second seed when they won in 2017 and 2022.
  • The Bears have not lost a match in conference play in two years. MoState's last loss in MVC action was just over two years ago on 10/23/22 at Illinois State (4-2), marking 20-straight conference matches without a loss for the Bears.
  • Julia Kristensen leads the Bears in scoring with six goals this season, which is tied for third in the conference. Grace O'Keefe is just behind her with five (tied for fourth in the MVC).
  • Kristensen is also leading the Bears in assists. She currently has 11 with three multi-assist matches (9/29 vs. Indiana State, 10/6 vs. Belmont, 10/13 vs. UIC). Kristensen is first in the MVC and tied for fourth nationally in total assists. She is also tied for sixth in the country in assists per game (.61).
  • Goalkeeper Camielle Day claimed another record against Valparaiso (3-0, 10/27). With the shutout, Day broke Jackie Jasper's (2005-08) record of 27 career shutouts and tied Nikki Coryell's (Valparaiso, 2020-23) MVC Record of 28 career shutouts.
  • Missouri State's defense is doing its job. The Bears have outshot their opponents 282-177 with 157 shots on-goal to 89.
  • MoState lived up to preseason expectations. The Bears were picked to finish first in the MVC preseason poll for the second year in a row with seven first place votes and 116 points.
  • Under Head Coach Kirk Nelson's leadership, the Bears have gone 23-2-5 in the MVC and never been below the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
