Missouri State head women's golf coach
Kevin Kane has announced the addition of a pair of prep standouts to his squad for the 2025-26 season. The newest Bears are Chloe Bolte of Sumner, Iowa, and Katelyn Wilkie of Newport, Shropshire, England.
Kane reached back to his Iowa roots to nab Bolte, already a three-time state champion at Sumner-Fredericksburg High who'll be looking to make it four straight next spring. She was named Iowa PGA Girls Player of the Year the past two years along with being named the top junior girls' player by the Iowa Golf Association in 2023, and the Class 2A Player of the Year all three seasons by the Iowa High School Coaches Association. The second-ranked senior in the state according to
Junior Golf Scoreboard, Bolte won the Iowa Junior Open and Principal Charity Classic Junior Open this past summer along with placing fourth at the Iowa Junior Girls Amateur and Iowa Girls Junior PGA Championship.
Wilkie also comes from familiar recruiting territory for Kane, who's had numerous players from the United Kingdom in the past. Wilkie compiled an impressive junior resume, claiming the Midlands Girls Champion of Champions title in 2022, followed by the Junior Girls Order of Merit crown in 2023. She also won the Shropshire County Girls Championship three consecutive years from 2022-24.
"I'm really thrilled to be able to add players the caliber of Chloe and Katelyn to our team," said Kane, now in his 23rd season at MSU. "They're gym rats when it comes to golf, love the game and have lots of competition under their belts. Lots of ability and potential there to be excited about and they've had a taste of winning at the previous level. I think they'll only strengthen and solidify our roster next year and make us even stronger as we move into Conference USA."
The Bears are coming off a solid fall campaign which saw them post three top-five finishes and never finish lower than sixth while playing a challenging schedule. They'll open up their spring season at the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz., Feb. 21-23.
