Cross Country Bears Wrap 2024 Season

November 15, 2024

PEORIA, Ill. – Missouri State's women's cross country team finished the 2024 season Friday with a 26th place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional hosted by Bradley.

Mary Margaret Harris was the first Bear across the line once again. The senior finished the race in 111th place out of 231 runners with a time of 21:38.4. Harris made up seven spots in the last kilometer to earn her finish. Tabitha Fox was next in line with a time of 22:09.6 in 138th place.

Emily Nuttall was next with a 143rd place finish and a time of 22:13.4. Lena Singleton and Adrien Martens were the final scorers in 156th place and 161st place with times of 22:23.3 and 22:28.5, respectively.

Grace Spoonhour and Ella Cronhardt were the final runners allotted for the Bears. Spoonhour finished in 181st place with a time of 22:50.4 and Cronhardt in 202nd place with a time of 23:08.2.

"It's not the way we wanted to end the season," head coach Jordan Fife said. "We thought on our best day we were definitely a top-20 team; we've struggled this year getting our top group to run well on the same day. Our lineup has rotated every meet this year and while that shows we have some depth; we just haven't been consistent enough. There are a lot of bright spots from the season that we'll take into next year, including getting several athletes back from injury ready to make an impact."

The Bears wrap the season with two wins early in the season, a seventh-place finish at the MVC meet and two runners landing spots on the all-time top-20 list for the 6k.
