NEWTON, Kan. -- Freshman
Jonathan Jordan fired a two-under-par 70 in Tuesday's (Oct. 8) last round of the Grier Jones Shocker Invitational to to help the Missouri State men's golf team move up a spot in the final team standings. The Bears posted a 296 team score, their best of the tournament, and moved up to 13th place with a 904 total in three trips around the 7,491-yard Sand Creek Station layout.
Jordan finished with a 225 total after shooting 78-77 the first two rounds and finished 50th, one behind teammate
Christian Rischer, who tied for 48th with 77-73-74--224. Senior
Ludvig Wijkstrom tied for 56th after carding 79-72-76--227, while
Tim Holmberg and
Max Bowman tied for 67th with 232 totals. Holmberg tallied 77-77-78 and Bowman had 81-75-76.
Host Wichita State rallied to claim the team title with 864, four better than overnight leader Incarnate Word at 868 and five in front of SIU Edwardsville and Xavier, which tied for third at 869.
The Bears are back in action next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 14-15) at The Buddy in Murray, Ky.
