On the Pitch
  • The first place Missouri State women's soccer team will defend its conference standing on Sunday when it faces second place Belmont at 1:00 p.m. in Nashville.
  • MoState leads the series 5-1-0 all-time with a 1-1 record at Belmont. In 2023, the Bears bested the Bruins, 2-0, in Springfield. They did the same in Nashville the year before.
  • Missouri State moved into first place in the MVC standings after beating Indiana State 2-0 on Sept. 29. MoState has earned 10 points so far this conference season.
  • The Bears are one of three MVC teams to remain undefeated in Valley play. UIC is 2-0-2 and Southern Illinois is 1-0-3.
  • The last time the Bears took to the pitch, they handed Indiana State its first conference loss of the season. Kaeli Benedict and Lillie Rasmussen scored a goal each within two minutes of each other. Julia Kristensen assisted on both.
  • Kristensen was named MVC Player of the Week on Oct. 1 due to her pair of assists and a goal in the Bears' tie with Evansville. It is her first time receiving the honor as a Bear.
  • Kristensen also leads the Bears in scoring with four goals this season. She is tied for second in the conference. Reilly Heman is just behind her with three.
  • Goalkeeper Camielle Day is getting closer and closer to another record. With the shutout against Indiana State, Day has 24 clean sheets. She is tied for second in school history with Alexis Stormo (2001-04) with 24 and behind Jackie Jasper (2005-08) with 27. Day is tied for second in the MVC in total shutouts (5).
  • The Bears are outshooting their opponents 173-143 with 140 shots on-goal compared to 75. Missouri State leads the MVC in shooting.
