Bears Shoot Low Round of Final Day, End Up Sixth in Iowa

FINAL RESULTS

IOWA CITY, Iowa – Missouri State's women's golf team shot the low round of the day Tuesday in a windy final 18 holes at the Diane Thomason Invitational at Finkbine Golf Course.
 
The Bears' final round team total of 26-over par moved the team up to a sixth-place finish in the 15-team field with an aggregate score of 924, which put them 18 shots behind host and champion Iowa. MoState also ranked atop the four Missouri Valley Conference teams in the event.
 
Sophomore Tierney Baumstark led the Bears with a 10th-place finish thanks to a three-round total of 76-73-78—227,
 
Coyee Zhang moved up eight spots to 22nd place following a final round 78, shooting 77-77-78—232. Helena Bel followed in 30th with an 84-71-79—234, while her one-under 71 in round two tied for low round that day and was one of eight sub-par rounds in the tournament.
 
Kiser Pannier also finished in the top half of the 81-player field in 37th with a 74-79-83—236. Freshman Siena Minor broke 80 in her final two rounds after opening with 84, posting a 241 total and climbing 14 spots in the final round to finish 54th.
 
The Bears return to action Oct. 14-15 at the Edisto Island Invitational in South Carolina.
