Missouri State men's golf coach
Neal Stafford has announced the signing of Jonathan Jordan of Rolla, Mo. to a national letter of intent to join the Bears for the 2024-25 season.
Jordan won the Class 4 state title for Rolla High School as a junior last spring after finishing fourth as a sophomore. This season, he is the third-ranked senior in Missouri according to
Junior Golf Scoreboard and fourth by the
American Junior Golf Association. Jordan captured the Missouri Junior Match Play title this past summer and later finished 13th at the Missouri Junior Amateur. He also placed seventh of over 300 players at the National Boys High School Invitational in July and posted top-20 finishes at AJGA events in Hollister and Joplin.
"I've recruited Jonathan for a couple of years now and it became very apparent that he's exactly what I'm looking for in a Bear," said Stafford. "He is extremely talented, mentally tough and has an innate ability to find a way to win! It's not easy to be atop a leaderboard, but how he handled both his state high school win and the (Missouri) Junior Match Play title will be so valuable as he makes the transition to college golf. I am very excited to have Jonathan joining us next fall!"
Stafford's Bears recently completed a fall season that saw them post a pair of top-five finishes along with an individual medalist and runner-up. They'll open the spring portion of their schedule Feb. 12-14 at the Bentwater Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas.
