SPRINGFIELD –
The Missouri State tennis team will conclude its season this weekend at the Missouri Valley Conference Tennis Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa.

The Bears are slated to play No. 2 seeded Illinois State in the first round of the tournament on Friday at 12 p.m. MSU faced off against the Redbirds earlier this spring, falling (7-0) on the road. Illinois State (14-6) finished the season second in The Valley after garnering four conference wins.

"We are looking forward to the MVC tournament this weekend," said head coach Randall Knox. "It's another great opportunity for us to compete and try to finish the season on a good note."

Last season, MSU served as the host of the tournament at the Cooper Tennis Complex, where the Bears made a run and captured wins over Valparaiso and Stony Brook to earn a place in the championship match. Ultimately, the Bears fell to Drake (4-0) to end their season.

The MVC tournament matches are set to be played at the Roger Knapp Tennis Center.
