NORMAN, Okla. - Missouri State women's tennis will travel to Oklahoma to compete in the ITA Regional Championships starting on Thursday October 16 at 8:00 a.m.
The Bears will compete in the ITA Regional Championships - Central region, featuring the region's top singles and doubles players looking to qualify for the season-ending ITA National Fall Championships.Â
Sophomore Lucy Latham has automatically qualified for main draw singles action.
Freshman Matilde Ercoli and seniors Billur Gonlusen and Raluca Puscas are in the qualifying singles draw.
Two doubles pairs are automatically in the main draw, Latham/Gonlusen and Puscas/Ercoli.
Singles qualifying play begins Thursday, October 16 in the morning, while main draw doubles starts in the afternoon. Main draw singles action begins on Friday, October 17 in the morning.
Head coach Austin Hale looks forward to the challenge, stating, "ITA Regionals is one of the most competitive events of the fall, and it's a great opportunity for our team to continue growing and testing ourselves against top programs. We've had a few injuries that set us back the past few weeks, but we are bouncing back and proud to represent Missouri State and build on the momentum we've created."
