Tennis to Hit the Road for Mid-Week Matches

March 07, 2022

SPRINGFIELD – Following two weekend matches, the Missouri State women's tennis team continues its road slate this week, with matches against Tarleton State University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University on Tuesday and Wednesday (March 8-9).

Over the weekend, MSU dropped 4-0 matches to UT-Martin and UT-Chattanooga on Friday, March 4, and Saturday, March 5. In lieu of its full roster, MSU (0-9) found itself in an early deficit in both matches after forfeiting both of its Flight No. 3 doubles matches, along with a singles match in the No. 6 position.

MSU will look to rebound this week first against Tarleton State on Tuesday at 3 p.m. The Texans are coming into the matchup with a 10-3 overall record after winning four of their last five matches. Most recently, the team recorded weekend wins over Grand Canyon and Dixie State, winning the first 4-2 before dominating the second, 7-0.

Next, the Bears will take on Southeastern Oklahoma on Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Storm enters the contest with a 4-2 record, most recently earning a 4-3 win over Washburn on Friday March 4.

Both matches will take place in Durant, Okla. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
