ST. LOUIS – Missouri State's Madison Meredith was selected as the Missouri Valley Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced today. 

Meredith earns the honor following her first-place finish in the 60-meter dash at the Gorilla Classic over the weekend. Her time of 7.26 seconds is an all-time career best and breaks the MSU record in the event (7.39), which she previously set last season. The victory marks Meredith's fifth individual event title this season, as she has placed first in every event she has competed in. She has now earned titles in three 60-meter dashes and two 200-meter dashes during the 2022 indoor season. The Birmingham, Michigan native's new PR and MSU record puts her at 17th on the NCAA national ranking list.  

The MSU track and field team continues its season on Friday, Feb. 18, in Fayetteville, Ark., as the Bears compete in the Arkansas Qualifier.
