Prime Nine
1) Missouri State wraps up a stretch of 10 consecutive road games Wednesday at Kansas before hosting two of its final three series at Hammons Field, beginning with a four-game set May 7-9 versus Indiana State.

2) This weekend's unusual start times with Indiana State - 10 a.m. doubleheader Friday, 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday - are in place because of additional home games scheduled for the Springfield Cardinals those same dates.

3) The Bears have a chance to improve to 3-0 in Power Five road games this season when they visit the Jayhawks. Missouri State won 11-8 at 18th-ranked Oklahoma State on March 23, and 7-5 at Missouri on April 13. MSU has 13 wins over the Jayhawks in Lawrence in its history.

4) The Bears have lost 10 home games and 11 overall contests from the schedule this season due to weather or coronavirus-related cancellations and postponements, leaving the team with a stretch from April 6-May 7 without a home game.

5) Missouri State is 15-4 when scoring at least three runs this season and 9-0 when scoring in the first inning, but was shut out for the final 19 innings of last weekend's series at Southern Illinois.

6) Head coach Keith Guttin picked up his 1,300th career victory on April 13 at Missouri. Guttin's troops beat the Tigers 7-5 in Columbia, moving him into a tie for 18th on the all-time wins list with Fresno State's Bob Bennett. Guttin ranks third among active coaches in career wins.

7) The Bears have four victories this season in their final at bat. MSU won in 10 innings on March 30 at SEMO, and has walk-off wins on April 1 against Bradley (Cam Cratic bases-loaded HBP), April 2 vs. BU (Mason Hull single) and April 6 versus Drury (Drake Baldwin home run).

8) MSU has four college graduates on the roster, with Jack Duffy, Logan Geha, Ben Whetstone and Logan Wiley each electing to use the additional season eligibility granted to 2020 spring athletes.

9) Ben Whetstone ranks 8th nationally by drawing 1.00 walks per game, while Jaden Rolffs is 37th at 0.32 HR per game. Cam Cratic is a .375 hitter with runners on and has reached base 13 times in 27 chances as a lead hitter this season. Jack Duffy owns a team-best .410 (16-for-39) average with runners on base this season.
