Storylines for the Weekend
1) Missouri State (15-13, 6-10 Missouri Valley Conference) closes out the season with a pair of home matches, taking on Indiana State (16-10, 8-8) at 6 p.m. Friday and Evansville (18-9, 8-8) at 5 p.m. Saturday at Hammons Student Center. MSU will honor its four seniors - Alyssa Doucette, Amelia Flynn, Emelie Orlando and Natalie Thomas - prior to Saturday's contest.
2) Outside hitter Amelia Flynn became the seventh member of Missouri State's 1,000-kill/1,000-dig club on Oct. 1 when she logged her 1,000th career dig at Illinois State. She ranks eighth at MSU with 1,375 kills and 16th with 1,142 digs.
3) Middle blockers Azyah Green and Maddy Bushnell have been a force at the net this season. Green's 1.14 blocking average is the highest at MSU since 2009, while Bushnell ranks second in the MVC with a .333 hitting percentage.
4) In addition to Bushnell, MSU's two other freshmen are contributing in a big way this season. Morgan Sprague ranks second in assists both overall and in league contests, and her 922 total assists rank 13th nationally among freshmen. Kate Owen ranks seventh in conference contests with 4.04 digs per set.
5) Missouri State is 14-0 this season when winning the first set, with 20 consecutive victories in that scenario dating to February 2021.
6) Missouri State is 7-3 at Hammons Student Center this season, 16-5 under Coach McRoberts, and has won 77 percent of all-time matches in its 46th season at the facility, with a winning record in 23 straight years including the 2021 campaign.
7) The Bears are 4-1 in five-set matches this season and 10-5 under Coach McRoberts when going the distance.
8) Missouri State has posted an overall winning record, both overall and in MVC play, 21 times in the last 22 seasons. While the Bears cannot reach .500 in the Valley standings this season, one more victory will secure a winning overall mark.

Indiana State used runs of at least 5-0 in each set to secure a 3-0 win over the Bears on Nov. 1 in Terre Haute. Missouri State tallied a season-high 13 blocks in the match, coming from six different players, but no Bear had more than seven kills.
