NEWARK, Del. – Missouri State made it six wins in a row Saturday by sweeping Delaware for the second straight day, this time by set scores of 27-25, 25-17, 25-21 at the Bob Carpenter Center.

With the win, the Bears (17-5, 8-2 Conference USA) stay in second place in the CUSA standings and host third-place Middle Tennessee on October 30 and 31 at Hammons Student Center.

Rilynn Finley led all players with 17 kills on .324 hitting while Jenna Walters and Lexi Weinberg each had 10 kills and hit above .300 to pace an offense that hit .289 overall and owned a 49-35 kill lead over the Blue Hens (7-13, 2-8).

The Bears trailed just once in the opening set at 24-23, but a Delaware service error evened the score. Finley had kills for leads of 25-24 and 26-25, and Chloe Judd and Weinberg paired up after that for the winning block. Finley had seven kills in the opener and Brooke Eslinger had seven digs to surpass 1,200 in her career.

Mo State had four different scorers in a 5-0 run to open a 10-5 lead in the second set, cruising to the 25-17 win by holding DU to just eight kills.

Delaware jumped out to an 11-5 advantage in the third before a 6-0 run that included two blocks and a kill from Judd put the Bears on top 15-14. The Bears continued to pull away to 23-17 on a Walters kill and withstood a late 3-0 run to complete the sweep.

Eslinger led all players with 14 digs, freshman Halle Rillie had 24 assists and two aces, and Judd had a team-high four blocks.

First serve for Friday's series opener with MTSU is set for 6 p.m. with a 1 p.m. match on Saturday. Tickets for home matches can be purchased here, and Missouri State students are admitted free of charge.
