SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women's soccer team will close out its home slate and honor the Bears' senior class when it hosts Drake at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

- Missouri State will be honoring their six-member senior class during pregame festivities on Saturday. The senior class consists of Jacqueline Baetz, Anna Durnin, Sierra Fury, Kennady Orlick, Kara Privitera and Kate Schroeder. The class has totaled 37 wins while combining for 159 starts, 26 goals and 19 assists in 15,504 minutes of game time.
- Saturday's match will mark the final appearance at Allison South Stadium for head coach Rob Brewer. Brewer announced his retirement on Aug. 18, which will go into effect at the completion of the season. Brewer started the Missouri State program in 1996 and has helped lead the Bears to NCAA Tournament appearances in 2000 and 2017, in addition to finishing in the top three of the Missouri Valley Conference standings 11 times. Brewer has helped mentor 109 all-conference selections and 82 academic all-conference honorees during his tenure and has compiled a 223-207-60 record with the Bears.
- In its last match out, Missouri State was defeated by Indiana State, 3-1. Abby Couch provided the goal for Missouri State with just 18 seconds remaining when she snuck a right-footed shot past Indiana State keeper Maddie Alexander. Iraia Arrue provided the assist. The goal was Couch's first of the season and Arrue's assist was the first of her career.
- The Bears used a valiant defensive effort to battle Loyola to a scoreless draw on Oct. 9. Goalkeeper Katherine Montgomery highlighted the MSU effort by recording a career-high 11 saves in 110 minutes of action. The 11 saves were the most by a Missouri State keeper since Kaitlin Maxwell's 11 on Sept. 9, 2018. With the tie, the Bears were the first team to get a point against Loyola in the MVC standings. It also marked the second-straight season that the programs battled to a scoreless tie.
- Montgomery has tallied 59 saves in 1,316 minutes of action this season. Montgomery picked up her fifth clean sheet of the season in the draw at Loyola, which ranks third in the MVC and 65th nationally. Her 1.094 goals-against average ranks fourth in the MVC.
- Missouri State routed Southern Illinois, 3-0, in their MVC opener on Sept. 17. Isabel Burke, Kaeli Benedict and O'Keefe all found the back of the net. O'Keefe and Durnin also picked up assists during the win.
- This season, eight Bears (Isabel Burke, Abby Couch, Durnin, Sierra Fury, O'Keefe, Kyli Jackson, Montgomery and Carly Raunig) have gone over the 1,000-minute mark. Burke leads MSU with 1,337 minutes on the season.
- Missouri State newcomers have accounted for 3,294 of the Bears 15,712 minutes this season.
- Missouri State leads The Valley and ranks 24th nationally in shot accuracy as the Bears have put 54.5 percent of their shots on goal.
The Leader of the Bears
- Head coach Rob Brewer has presided over the Missouri State women's soccer program for the entirety of its 26-season history. Overall, Missouri State has produced a 223-207-60 record during Brewer's tenure. The 1999 Missouri Valley Conference Coach of the Year has produced 109 all-conference selections and 86 academic all-conference honorees. In 26 seasons as a program, his team has reached the MVC Tournament 20 times and has only six losing campaigns. The Bears reached the NCAA tournament in 2000 and 2017 under Brewer's guidance. Prior to Missouri State, Brewer had head coaching stints at Elon, Virginia Wesleyan and Roanoke College. At Roanoke, he coached current Missouri State men's soccer coach Jon Leamy for four seasons.
Balanced Bears Attack
- The Missouri State attack has been balanced this season, as 10 Bears have tallied a point and nine Bears have scored goals. Of the Bears' 43 points this season, 37.2 percent have come from freshmen.
Working Overtime
- The Bears have gone the full distance without determining a winner four times this season in five overtime games. The Missouri State record for ties in a season is five, which was accomplished by the 2005 team.
Goals Breakdown
- Orlick, Kate Schroeder and O'Keefe are all tied for the team lead with two goals apiece.
- This season, three of the Bears' 14 goals have come from players who entered the game off the bench (Kate Schroeder, Maddie Augustine, Jenna Anderson).

- Grace O'Keefe recently garnered national acclaim as she was ranked 92nd in the Top Drawer Soccer Top-100 freshman rankings. In her freshman season, O'Keefe has provided an immediate spark for the MSU offense. She currently leads the Missouri Valley Conference and ranks 35th nationally with seven assists. The Overland Park, Kan., native leads the Bears with 11 points and has tallied a goal or assist in eight matches this season.
Know the Foe
- Drake is 6-5-5 overall and 1-2-3 in MVC play this season.
- In its last match out, Drake fought Illinois State to a scoreless draw. The Bulldogs' keeper Kelsie Stone faced 17 shots and made seven saves in her 110 minutes of action.
- The Bulldogs' lone MVC win came over Southern Illinois on Oct. 9 by the score of, 1-0. Emma Nagel provided the lone goal in the match.
- Stone has been a wall this season for the Bulldogs in the net. Her 106 saves lead The Valley and rank fifth nationally. Her 7.07 saves per game rank 11th nationally and her seven shutouts this season rank 17th among all NCAA keepers.
- Libby Helverson is the leader of the Drake offensive attack. The senior midfielder is tied for the team lead in goals with four and has 11 points on the season.
- Nagel is also tied with Helversen for the team lead in goals (4).
- Overall, Indiana State has tallied 13 goals while allowing 15 through 16 matches this season.
- Head Coach Lindsey Horner is in her 12h season at the helm. Under her guidance, Drake has posted a 104-97-30 record. Prior to ISU, Horner was a two-sport standout at Kansas where she was MVP her senior year on the pitch and led the Jayhawks to a Sweet Sixteen appearance as a member of the women's basketball team in 1997.
Series History
- Drake leads the all-time series, 5-12-4. Last season, Missouri State defeated the Bulldogs, 1-0. Sierra Fury scored the game winner in the 52nd minute off an assist from Anna Durnin.
- The Bears are 69-67-25 (.506) all time in Missouri Valley Conference play.
