RIO VERDE, Ariz. –
Missouri State women's golf finished in 11th place in its first tournament of the spring at the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz. The Bears (307-309-307) completed their final two rounds today (Feb. 23) at the par-72 White Wing Golf Course at the Rio Verde Country Club.

Sophomores Abby Cavaiani (82-77-73), Allison Bray (78-75-79) and Faith Belmear (73-83-76) led the Bears in team competition, all tallying 232 and tying for 42nd. Freshman Johanna Wollenhaupt (77-78-82) and sophomore Brooke Newell (79-79-79) tied for 61st. 

Junior Bridget Schulte, competing individually, carded an impressive 76-74-74 (top-15).

Arkansas State (299-289-292) won the 18-team competition, while Northern Illinois (302-298-292) and Xavier (297-305-301) placed second and third, respectively. Rounding out the top-five were Seton Hall (306-296-304) and Akron (309-302-297).

Missouri State women's golf will be back in action March 1-3 at the Kiawah Island Spring Invitational in Kiawah Island, S.C.
