SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State women's soccer team concluded the fall schedule with a double overtime, 1-1 tie, with the Missouri Southern Lions Sunday afternoon.

The lone goal of the first half came in the 24th minute when the Lions' Meredith Belrose got the ball through the hands of MSU goalkeeper, Camielle Day.

Emma Skornia and Jordan Eickelman both took close shots before the first half concluded, but MSSU goalkeeper Chloe Sevilla continued the shutout into halftime.

Shortly into the second half, a foul on the Lions gave freshman Dragana Andonovski the chance for a free kick in Lions territory. Andonovski shot a laser from outside the box that found the back of the net to tie the game at one and mark her first goal as a Bear.

The score remained 1-1 at the end of regulation, advancing to the first overtime. The first overtime saw shots from Andonovski and Skornia, but the Bears couldn't get anything to fall in the net. The second overtime consisted of shots from Skornia, Jacqueline Baetz and Kara Privitera, but the score remained 1-1, resulting in a tie.

"I give a lot of credit to Missouri Southern, they came out and gave us their best," Missouri State head coach Rob Brewer said. "We look at this as a developmental portion of our season and we are trying to find out about all the players, not just our top players. This group is special because they really do believe in giving 100 percent all the time and putting that into play

The Bears conclude the fall portion of their schedule with an overall record of 1-2-1. They will head into the off-season and prepare for the spring.
