• Missouri State men's soccer (5-0-0) extended its perfect season with a 3-1 win over conference foe Valparaiso on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium in the Missouri Valley Conference opener for both squads.
• The Bears have opened the season with five consecutive wins for the first time since the 1995 team started their season by going 7-0.
• Josh Dolling was selected to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week for his stellar performance on the pitch last week for the Bears.  He leads the nation with his four game-winners, recording the go-ahead goal in the first four matches for the Bears.  After finishing atop the Missouri Valley Conference in goals scored (10) and total points (23) in 2018, he leads the league in both categories this season with four goals and nine total points.
• Missouri State has outscored its opponents 10-2 on the season, beginning the season with four straight shutouts for the first time in program history.
• The Bears' defense ranks fourth nationally in goals against average (0.247), surrendering two goals and holding opponents to six shots on goal this season.  With three clean sheets in 2019, goalkeeper Michael Creek has recorded nine career shutouts, two games shy of tying Lance Parker (2004-07) for sixth on the school's all-time career leaders in shutouts.
• MSU is 14th in the nation in assists per game with 11 assists on the year.  Aadne Gikling Bruseth, Jack Denton, Will Osgathorpe, and Stuart Wilkin each have two assists to lead the Bears this season.
• Missouri State ranks second in the Sept. 17 United Soccer Coaches West Region poll behind Saint Mary's (CA), while receiving 22 votes in the national poll behind that was released on Tuesday.
• Dolling and junior defender Kyle Hiebert were selected as MVC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (Sept. 17).  Both players earned preseason conference honors, joining Ben Stroud on the Preseason All-MVC Team for MSU.
• Picked as the Missouri Valley Conference frontrunner in the league's preseason poll, Missouri State is the only unbeaten team remaining in the conference.

 Know the Foe

• Loyola opened up its MVC conference slate with a 2-1 win over Evansville on Wednesday, Sept. 18 in Evansville, Ind.
• The Ramblers are tied with Missouri State for second in the league with 10 goals on the season, sitting two goals behind Valparaiso.  Junior Justin Sukow leads the team with three goals on the season, scoring in back-to-back games for Loyola.
• Goalkeeper Marcel Kampan is second in the conference in save percentage (.682) and total saves (15), allowing seven goals on the season in his six starts in goal for the Ramblers.
• Head coach Neil Jones is 59-42-18 in his seventh season at the helm for the Ramblers.  He has a 4-3-2 record against Missouri State, winning back-to-back matches over the Bears the past two seasons.

• Missouri State leads the all-time series 5-4-2 between the two teams, with Loyola winning 1-0 in last year's matchup on Oct. 13 in Chicago. 
• The Bears are 1-2-1 playing on the road at Loyola with the Ramblers defeating MSU in the past two meetings inside Loyola Soccer Stadium. 
• Loyola enters the match with an eight game home winning streak that dates back to Sept. 7 2018.
