SPRINGFIELD – Senior standout Ashley Childers added yet another academic recognition to her impressive resume, this time representing Missouri State women's golf on the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District At-Large team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA).

The Mount Vernon, Mo. native holds a perfect 4.00 GPA in Logistics & Supply Chain Management.

Posting an 80.08 scoring average this year, Childers recorded a top-25 effort at the Kansas City Intercollegiate after shooting 79-78-79 for a 233 total. She registered the same cumulative score the previous week at the Memphis Intercollegiate.

She received an honorable-mention spot on the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete team. Last year, Childers earned the league's Elite 17 award after finishing sixth at the MVC Championship.

Childers now advances to the Google Cloud Academic All-American ballot. First, second and third team (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

Selected by CoSIDA members, the Academic All-District® distinction is given to student-athletes for their combined athletic and academic accomplishments. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 (on a scale of 4.00), have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
