Breiten, James Propel Bears at Day One of Tom Botts Invite

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Missouri State track and field team saw multiple personal bests during day one of the Tom Botts Invitational.

Four Bears recorded personal bests in the 5,000-meter run, led by Grace Breiten who posted a 17:22.23 race to take first place in the event. Erica Wollmering finished third in 17:36.21, while Renae Buschling (17:55.07) and Shelby Palmer (17:59.51) took seventh and 10th respectively.

Jamilah James captured second place in the long jump, posting a 5.92-meter personal best leap, eclipsing her previous best by a tenth of a meter. Sidne' Williamson took fourth in the event on a 5.67m attempt.  

Day two of the Tom Botts Invitational will get started at noon with the shot put, while track events will start at 1 p.m. with the 4x100-meter relay.
