The Bears are coming off an impressive weekend performance, claiming conference victories against UNI and Drake to begin MVC play 2-0. MSU is tied alongside Illinois State in league standings.

This marks the first time since the program's reinstatement the Bears have begun the season 2-0.

MSU battled after falling behind in doubles action to earn all six singles points to garner their fourth-straight league opener with the 6-1 win over the Panthers.

Boeschen claimed the UNI match in the fifth flight, securing a 6-1, 6-4 decision. She is one of two Bears to remain perfect in singles and doubles over the weekend.

Khamissi fended off Drake to clinch the 4-3 win in straight-sets, 6-3, 6-3, at the No. 3 spot. She played a key role in both the Bears' victories, earning points during singles and doubles for both matches.

Khamissi and Ellie Burger lead MSU with eight singles' wins this spring.

Illinois State is tied alongside the Bears for the top spot in the MVC with a 2-0 record, and 14-6 overall. Bradley split its opening weekend to sit at 1-1, tying Drake for the second place position.
