SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State's beach volleyball program has added three transfer student-athletes and one international player to its 2020 roster, head coach
Terri Del Conte announced Wednesday.
Michal Barannik • Hadera, Israel • Hadera High
An outside hitter in the indoor game, Barannik has a wealth of experience playing for both her school team and internationally. She was a member of a pair of youth teams to claim Israeli titles, and on a third-place club in the senior division. Barannik was also on an eighth-place team at the U20 European Championships, finished ninth at the Middle European Volleyball Zonal Association meet, and ninth in FIVB competition.
Del Conte on Barannik:
"
Michal Barannik has the all-around beach game. She is coming in with the most beach experience on a roster, which is beyond exciting. Expect to see her elevate the game to another level."
Pamela Jaime • Santo Domingo, D.R. • Columbia College
A two-time all-conference selection in the American Midwest at NAIA Columbia College, Jaime appeared in 84 matches with 585 kills, 64 aces, 183 digs and 101 blocks in two seasons with the Cougars. She played the 2015 and 2016 seasons at Miami-Dade College.
Del Conte on Jaime:
"
Pamela Jaime is a force at the net. She's dynamic, jumps well and possesses all the traits of a great blocker. We have high hopes of a scary net presence and a great team player."
Rachel Tam • Hong Kong • St. Catherine's School for Girls/Evansville
Tam was a four-year starter for the indoor team at Evansville from 2015-18, compiling 1,469 career kills and a 3.22 per set average over her career and ranking in the top four in the Missouri Valley Conference in kill average her final two seasons. Tam was a two-time first-team MVC Scholar-Athlete pick at UE, adding a second-team all-MVC selection to her resume as a junior. In the sand, she earned top-17 finishes in Asian Beach Tour events in Vietnam and Thailand in 2015, and a pair of top-12 showings at the Second Summer Youth Olympic Beach Volleyball Tournament in 2014.
Del Conte on Tam:
"
Rachel Tam is familiar with playing at a high level within the Missouri Valley Conference and with her respected Chinese national team. We are looking forward to training her and unleashing her on the beach. Based on her work ethic and previous accolades, she will be a force to be reckoned with."
Alaina Tinsley • Trussville, Ala. • Hewitt Trussville High/Florida Atlantic
Tinsley redshirted the 2019 beach season at Florida Atlantic after playing high school volleyball at Hewitt Trussville High in Alabama. She owns several high finishes on the junior beach circuit, winning the East Coast Championships and placing second at the SRVA Regional Beach Championships in the summer of 2018, both USA Volleyball Southern Region events.  Â
Del Conte on Tinsley:
"
Alaina Tinsley is a great find for us. She has a true passion and skill for the beach game ever since she converted full time from indoor. We believe she will come in and shine right away on and off the court."
