KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Missouri State women soccer's
Kaitlin Maxwell and
Ashley Coonfield were selected to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Women's Scholar All-North/Central Region second and third team, as announced Monday.
An all-region second team pick, Maxwell sports a 3.98 GPA in finance and was chosen as the Valley's top goalkeeper for the second consecutive season, marking the first time a player has repeated since the award inclusion in 2010. Along with the specialty award, she also received All-MVC first team laurels for the second-straight year. The Lincoln, Neb. product held her opposition to 14 goals in the regular season, the fewest among all MVC members in 2019. She marked one of three goalies to make the all-north/central region list.
Coonfield, who made the all-region third team, owns a 3.80 GPA in cell and molecular biology and was a 2019 All-MVC first-team honoree. The Kearney, Mo. product impressed in her senior campaign, sharing a portion of the team-best in points (11) off three goals and five assists. She tied for the league's runner-up spot in assists and third in game-winning goals.
This is both ladies' first academic all-region honor.
