KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Michael Creek, Kyle Hiebert, and Stuart Wilkin of Missouri State men's soccer were selected to the 2019 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I Men's Scholar All-North/Central Region First Team, the organization announced on Monday (Dec. 16).

The Bears' trio highlights the first team list, tying with Oakland University for the most honorees within the region.

As an Entrepreneurship major, Creek boasts a 3.97 GPA to receive his first academic All-Region honor.  He made all 20 starts in goal for MSU this season, allowing just 13 goals in his 1813:14 minutes played for a 0.646 goals against average which ranks ninth nationally.  He was selected as the MVC's Goalkeeper of the Year after leading the league in save percentage (0.787) and allowing the fewest goals among Valley keepers (13).  The junior from St. Louis earned CoSIDA Academic All-America First Team honors as well as being named to the Valley's Scholar-Athlete First Team.

This marks the third-straight year Hiebert has landed on the Scholar All-Region team as the redshirt junior, who completed his undergraduate degree in May with a 4.0 GPA, pursues his master's degree in Accounting.  He adds another postseason academic honor after being named the 2019 MVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's soccer and received his third CoSIDA Academic All-American laurel.  The Canadian defender was tabbed the MVC Defensive Player of the Year and made the All-MVC First Team while starting all 20 matches for an MSU team that featured one of the top defenses in the nation with a 0.632 goals against average.  He also chipped in four points for the Bears' attack with a goal and two assists.

A four-year starter for the Bears, Wilkin collects his latest academic award after carrying a 3.55 GPA as a Communication Studies major.  The senior from Surrey, England finished the year in the top-10 in the Valley's offensive categories with career-highs in points (14), goals (5), assists (4), shots (38), and shots on goal (14).  Wilkin was named MVC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 24 after scoring in back-to-back matches including the game-winner in overtime at Loyola (Sept. 26).  He joined Creek and Hiebert on the MVC's All-Conference and Scholar-Athlete First Team ballots.
