SPRINGFIELD – For the second straight year, both
Kyle Hiebert and
Michael Creek of the Missouri State men's soccer team were named to the Academic All-District VI team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday (Nov. 7).

Hiebert, who has started in 49 consecutive matches for the Bears, anchors an MSU backline that is sixth in the nation with a 0.586 goals against average. The redshirt junior has made the All-District VI team in three consecutive seasons while receiving MVC preseason all-conference honors prior to the 2019 season as well as an MVC Defensive Player of the Week selection on Sept. 17. As a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, Hiebert earned United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American Third Team honors last season. Hiebert completed his undergraduate degree in May with a 4.0 GPA and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Accounting.Â

Making all 15 starts in goal this season for MSU, Creek has played in 1341:40 minutes while recording five shutouts in 2019. The junior from St. Louis ranks seventh among Division-I goalkeepers with a 0.603 goals against average and has allowed just nine goals on the season. He has collected 30 saves to lead the Valley with a 0.769 save percentage. In 2018, Creek earned CoSIDa Academic All-America Third Team, MVC Scholar Athlete First Team and CoSIDa Academic All-District VI honors. As an entrepreneurship major, Creek boasts a 3.97 GPA.

The No. 10-ranked Bears (15-0, 9-0 MVC) wrap up the regular-season at Drake on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1:00 p.m. MSU is looking to record the program's first perfect regular season after claiming its eighth MVC regular season title last week.
