ST. LOUIS – Missouri State women's soccer's
Kaitlin Maxwell,
Jordan Eickelman, and
Olina Einarsdottir capped a stellar 2019 season with Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete First Team laurels, as announced by the league Tuesday.
Maxwell sports a 3.98 GPA in finance and was chosen as the Valley's top goalkeeper for the second consecutive season, marking the first time a player has repeated since the award inclusion in 2010. Along with the specialty award, she also received All-MVC first team laurels for the second-straight year. The Lincoln, Neb. product held her opposition to 14 goals in the regular season, the fewest among all MVC members in 2019. This is her second-straight year taking home the honor.
Eickelman owns a 3.91 GPA in movement and exercise science, and was an offensive force for the Bears this season, taking second-best on the team in goals (4) and sharing the lead in points (11). She tallied two goals in conference play, including the game-winner in the Bears' regular-season finale at Indiana State. The Derby, Kan. product recorded three assists, two of them coming in back-to-back non-conference contests against Tulsa and Murray State.
Einarsdottir finishes her career with a 3.94 GPA in graphic design and started every contest for the Bears as a senior, playing a crucial role in a defense that held their opponents to the fewest goals among Valley schools in the regular season. She totaled over 1,500 minutes on the pitch and contributed to MSU's six shutouts.
