United Soccer Coaches Poll
SPRINGFIELD – Missouri State men's soccer (9-0-0, 3-0-0 MVC) climbed three spots to No. 14 in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division-I poll that was announced on Tuesday.
Â
The No. 14 ranking marks the highest spot for the Bears since the 2005 team peaked at No. 9 during an eight-week stretch inside the top-25.
Â
The Bears cracked the top-25 rankings for the second straight year, debuting at No. 19 on Sept. 24. Following a pair of wins against Western Illinois and Omaha, the Bears moved up to No. 17 in last week's poll.
Â
MSU is one of three Division-I teams to remain perfect in 2019, joining top-20 teams Virginia (No. 1, 10-0-0) and Navy (No. 19, 11-0-0). The Bears' nine-game winning stretch is the program's longest since the 1999 team won 12 straight matches.
Â
Missouri State begins a two-match homestand with Bradley (3-3-3, 2-1-1 MVC) on Wednesday, Oct. 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium.
