HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – The Missouri State women's golf team finished in a knot for seventh at the 2019 Little Rock Golf Classic, ending its fall slate this afternoon (Oct. 29) in Hot Springs Village, Ark. The squad carded 300-299-295 (+30) at the par-72 Diamante Country Club.
Two-time Missouri Valley Conference golfer of the week sophomore
Abby Cavaiani earned her fifth top-10 finish of the season, tying for seventh with 72-74-71 (+1).
Freshman
Johanna Wollenhaupt was next for MSU with 76-76-76 (+12) to tie for 49th. Rounding out the unit were sophomores
Brooke Newell with 75-83-72 (+14) and
Allison Bray with 77-74-80 (+15), while junior
Bridget Schulte recorded 81-75-76 (+16).
Representing MSU in individual competition was freshman
Taylor Towers, tallying 77-77-78 (+16).
Western Kentucky (291-286-299) took home the tournament title in the 17-team competition, while Bradley (295-287-299) and California Baptist (293-293-300) finished first and second. Jacksonville State (300-290-300) and the University of Texas at El Paso (300-285-306) completed the top-five.
The women's golf team will start spring competition Feb. 21-23 at the Rio Verde Invitational in Rio Verde, Ariz.
