United Soccer Coaches Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second straight week, Missouri State boasts a top-10 men's soccer team as the undefeated Bears (13-0, 7-0 MVC) stayed in the No. 9 spot in the latest United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division-I poll announced on Tuesday.
Â
The Bears, who jumped inside the top-10 last week for the first time since the 2005 team peaked at No. 9, have spent six straight weeks in the national poll after debuting at No. 19 on Sept. 24.Â
Â
MSU cracked the top-25 rankings for the second straight year, following the 2018 team who earned a spot at No. 25 on Oct. 9, 2018. The 2019 squad is the fourth Missouri State team in program history to receive a top-10 ranking in the national poll, joining the 1999, 2000, and 2005 teams. MSU's highest ranking came in the 2000 season with a No. 3 spot in the Sept. 11 poll.
Â
The Bears continue to sit atop the NCAA D-I West Region rankings, joining fellow Valley teams, Loyola (5), Bradley (9), and Drake (10) in the regional rankings. MSU checks in at No. 14 in the latest NCAA RPI rankings after moving inside the top-10 last week. The Bears also hold the No. 13 and No. 14 spots in the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com and College Soccer News polls, respectively.
Â
Missouri State travels to Valparaiso for a conference road match against the Crusaders on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 12:00 p.m. with a chance to claim outright the Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship. Coach
Jon Leamy's squad then returns to Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium on Sunday for its regular-season home finale against Loyola at 1 p.m.
