Final Results
DES MOINES, Iowa – Missouri State men's golf finished in tie for ninth after the final 18 holes concluded Tuesday at the Zach Johnson Invitational in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Freshman
Max Kreikemeier (Chesterfield, Mo.) remained the frontrunner for the Bears, ending the tournament tied for sixth and firing a strong 71-69 in his final two rounds. Senior
Lukas McCalla (Topeka, Kan.) followed eight strokes behind, shooting 73-78-76 (tie for 19th).
Junior
Crimson Callahan finished with 80-75-78 (tied for 40th). Freshmen
Carter Lee and
Austin Gillund rounded out the Bears' squad. Lee fired a low final round to share the 44th spot with 80-81-73, while Gillund shot 82-81-76 (tie for 60th).
Junior Christoper Obert, competing individually, tallied 78-75-74 to join McCalla in 19th.
Loyola-Chicago won the 12-team competition with a total of 888. Valparaiso followed two strokes behind, taking second place with 890. Tournament host Drake (896) finished in third, while Creighton and North Dakota State (902) tied for fourth.
The Bears will be back on the course Oct. 12-15 at the F&M Bank/APSU Intercollegiate in Dickson, Tenn.
