Track & Field Bears Prepare to Launch the New Year at Arkansas

SPRINGFIELD – The Missouri State track and field team will continue the 2018-19 indoor season at the Arkansas Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas, on Friday Jan. 11, starting at 1 p.m.

Keeping Track of the Bears
- For the fifth time in six years the Bears are competing at the Arkansas Invitational. In 2018, the team logged four top five placing, led by Brittany McPike in the weight throw. McPike recorded a program top-10 toss and a new personal best (17.24-meter).
- Last time out, the Bears took second place at the Missouri Holiday Opener, recording 117 points, with event titles from Sidne' Williamson, Chicago Bains, Erica Wollmering, Taryn Smiley, while also taking down a 4x400m relay championship.
- A new era in Bears track and field has commenced, with interim head coach Jordan Fife taking the reins, along with assistant coaches Carmelita Jeter and Jake Brydson.
- Fife came to MSU in 2014 and has been the Bears head cross country coach for the past five seasons, while also serving as an assistant track and field coach.
- MSU enters the indoor season picked fifth the Missouri Valley Conference pre-season poll.
