SPRINGFIELD – After picking up two consecutive wins over Omaha and UMKC, the Missouri State women's soccer team will look to extend its winning streak this weekend against in-state rival Saint Louis.
The Bears will head to Saint Louis Sunday, Sept. 9 with a start time slated for 1 p.m. The match will be aired on ESPN+.
Missouri State Quick Kicks
- Freshman forward Anna Durnin garnered Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week laurels after scoring the game-winning goal to edge out Omaha, 1-0, last Friday.
- Emma Skornia and Anna Durnin each scored their first collegiate goal in the past week, both proving to be key goals in Bears' victories.
- Kennady Orlick found the net for the third time this season, in a 2-1 win over UMKC, to become Missouri State's leading scorer. Two of her goals, against Western Illinois and Southeast Missouri State, were game winners.
- Kaitlin Maxwell has tallied nine saves over the past two games, helping the Bears to a 1-0 shutout over Omaha and a 2-1 win at UMKC. During those two games Maxwell had several game-saving grabs including a save at the 85-minute mark against Omaha to secure Missouri State's third shutout of the season.
Scouting Saint Louis
- Saint Louis holds a split 2-2-1 record, posting wins against UMKC and SIU Edwardsville.
- The Billikens have spread the scoring across the roster with seven members having found the goal so far this season, and six have logged assists.
- SLU earned the favorite's nod in the A-10 preseason coaches' poll.

- Heading into this weekend's match, Saint Louis has the series edge going 9-2-5 over the Bears.
- The past two contests at home have resulted in split results, Missouri State won, 1-0, in 2011 but lost, 3-0, last season.
